Work Description: I do couple therapy, marriage counseling and individual therapy with confused, anxious and/or depressed adults exclusively. When someone enters into a psychotherapeutic relationship with me, that person deserves my undivided attention for that hour and to be seen and heard as a unique individual. Every session should be of help. We set goals of therapy. I am committed to making a positive difference through each session so that my patients use the therapy in the real world, not just in my office. Indeed, I have surveyed 10 years of patients to see if the therapy held up over time. The majority of patients felt that the changes they made with my help were beneficial and lasting.

The basis of my work is the concept that everything we feel, think and do is decisional. We make decisions about how to get reward and avoid punishment from very little on, first in our immediate family and then the larger community as our world expands. Most of these decisions hold us in good stead through our lives; they are the building blocks of our cultures. But as we grow up, we sometimes find that our decisions, our way of thinking, feeling, and doing, don't work, don't seem to fit our current reality. We become stuck. At such points, people often seek help from a psychotherapist to get unstuck. I like to think of myself as an "unsticker."

I tend to work quickly and actively in the therapy hour. A potential patient may want to consider that my total cost may be less than those of others because of my ability to focus, set goals, and work quickly.

I speak French sufficiently to conduct therapy in that language.

Appointments are easy to schedule by calling me directly at (210)614-1100 or my receptionist, (210)614-2703.
