The training program outlined in this brochure will be conducted in an atmosphere of acceptance and appreciation in the historic Texas and Pacific Depot at the south end of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. The leaders of each interactive session have been selected not only for their proven expertise, but also for the way they relate with and motivate learners.

December 5, 2008 7– 9 p.m.

The Power and Practice of TA and How It Has, Can and Will Work

Keynote Address by James R. Allen, M.D.

Dr. Allen is Professor of Psychiatry and Rainbolt Chair of Child Psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He is a Gestalt and family therapist and has worked with individuals, families and children for over 35 years. He trained with Eric Berne, Bob & Mary Goulding and Dave Kupfer in Transactional Analysis; Fritz Perls and Jim Simkin in Gestalt; and Virginia Satir and Monica McGoldrich in family therapy.

Introduction to the Concepts, Systems, Terms and Applications of TA

Chuck Holland and Ray Quiett are both long-time psychotherapists who successfully use TA with multiple clients. Ray Quiett taught TA and Group Dynamics at East Central University for 35 years and is currently in private practice. Chuck Holland has been using TA in his practice in Fort Worth almost 40 years, and is a leader in practical application of the system.

Personality, Ego States: Structural and Functional Analysis

Jo Lewis, PsyD, co-founded with Dr. Mark Wise the Center for Cooperative Change in Atlanta. She served as Vice President of the Southeast Institute for Group and Family Therapy, Chapel Hill, NC for many years. Jo works with organizations as well as with individuals and families.

Transactions, Strokes and Transactional Intervention in Conflicts

Lucy Freedman, MAT, has practiced for three decades as therapist, consultant, trainer, and coach. Certified in TA and NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) she is co-author of Smart Work: The Syntax Guide for Mutual Understanding in the Workplace. Lucie King is a lecturer, facilitator and trainer with more than 30 years of experience. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is the author of Quest for Vision: Poems for Old Souls and How to Encourage Healthy Competition.

Valerie Chang is an active psychotherapist and emeritus professor at Indiana University. She is the author of 3 books and numerous articles. She has served on the ITAA Board of Trustees, the ITAA Board of Certification, the USATAA Council, and as General Coordinator, and Coordinator of Education of USATAA.

July 24 & 25 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.(Module 4)

Life patterns (Scripts), How They Persist, and How To Improve

A leadership team will be specially selected to finish the learning objectives and reinforce areas where some concepts and applications may need more explanation and emphasis.

The training program is co-sponsored by Texas and Pacific Lofts and the National Cowboys of Color Museum and Hall of Fame.

The cost for the keynote is $10, for the one-day introduction $50, and $150 for each module with a special rate of $500 for all four modules if paid in advance. There may be an additional fee for processing CEU’s.
