 Transactional Analysis is a rational and easy-to-understand method of clarifying and managing human relationships and behaviors. The con­cepts developed by Eric Berne, M.D. in the 50s and 60s have continued to be expanded by Transactional Analysts through­out the world.. This course can be beneficial to mental health professionals, parents, educators, clergy, physicians, people in managerial positions and the legal profession, and anyone interested in relating more effectively with self and with others. This course can serve as an introduction to Transactional Analysis or as a refresher for those already familiar with the theory and applications.

This course is a prerequisite for advanced Trans­actional Analysis training, .  Completion of this course fulfills the requirements for becom­ing a regular voting member of the International Transactional Analysis Association.

This course has been approved for twelve hours of continuing education credit by the Texas Board of Exami­ners of Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers and the Texas Board of Examiners of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists. ceu’s also available for Psychologists.. CEU credit also available for professionals from other states though the USATAA.

Participants will learn:         

 *to use Transactional analysis as a diagnostic tool and for treatment interventions with clients.

*ways to manage their own behaviors and lead others for excellent performances

* to differentiate between feelings, thoughts , and opinions and use them for potent communication

* to avoid and/or get out of relational counter-productive entanglements

*  options that work when communication is at an impasse

*  how to protect themselves from the Internal critic

* tools useful in taking charge of life

* the power of giving and receiving positive and negative feedback.

*  to think about feelings in order to solve problems and get needs met.

* to become aware of the negative impact in the present time that early life decision may be having

 

Cost:                $185.00 includes workshop tuition and materials.

                         $150.00 early bird registration before January 15, 2010

                        $95.00 for full- time students.  Some scholarships available

Presenter: Felipe Garcia, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas. He has been in private practice in San Antonio for 30 years. He is a Clinical Teaching and Supervising Member of the Inter­na­tional Trans­actional Analysis Association and a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and a Diplomat of the Redecison Therapy Association. Mr. Garcia has worked with couples and families and trained executives, managers and other personnel in both the private and public sectors in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia. He has published several articles on communication and cooperation, including “The Role of Feelings in the Workplace” and “Winning Together”.  He is founder and past General Coordinator of the United States of America Trans­ac­tional Analysis Association and has served on the board of trustees of the International Transactional Analy­sis Asso­ciation.
